Sitcom Smackdown

Pop culture site Vulture.com sets up a 16-show bracket to determine the best sitcom of the last 30 years:
Beginning today, our all-star panel of novelists, journalists, and TV producers will take on the close-to-impossible job of determining which of these sitcoms deserve to progress in our bracket, and which must stay behind. (Naturally some favorites — Curb Your Enthusiasm, Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond — did not make the cut; you’ll find the reasons why here. And a few more ground rules for how we selected our final sixteen are worth noting. First, we only considered shows that were made in the USA, so no British Office. Second, nothing less than three seasons was eligible, so no Girls or New Girl. Lastly, just sitcoms, not sketch shows.)
I don't know why they want to go through all that trouble when the obvious answer is: the first ten years of The Simpsons:
