Song Infection of the Day

Every morning when I get in the shower, for some reason my brain gets infected by a random song. Sometimes there's some sense behind it--it'll be a song that I heard someone mention recently, or I caught a snippet of it on a commercial or TV show. But sometimes there's no sense at all. I could be a song I haven't thought of in years, from a band that crashed decades ago into a valley of anonymity so deep that not even the hippest hipster reference could reach them. Like my deepest subconscious was clearing its throat first thing in the morning, and this song was one of the things it coughed up.

But wherever it comes from, it makes its way into my superconscious and hangs around there for the rest of the day.

I thought about sharing these songs as a regular feature of the blog, so that I could spread the music infection, because I've heard that's one of the best ways to get a stubborn tune out of your head. But I was concerned that if I ever started to count on them, then I'd stop getting them. But then I thought, "Who cares?" So now I bring you the first in what may or may not be a running feature: Your musical infection of the day.

Today's infection is one of the kind that makes a little bit of sense. I saw Kristin Schaal on the Tonight Show the other night, so naturally the theme for Gravity Falls was bound to find me sooner or later. Why you ackin' so cray-cray?
